Contraband

Ferryman,

I ain’t no stowaway,

drown me my soul to stray,

that I might know the day.

Can’t you see!

I’m your zealotry,

your hallow shine,

your entropy,

your borderline!

Your apathy,

your serpentine,

your gravity,

your paradigm!

Ferryman!

Are you the Nyx?

Are you the Acheron?

Are you the Styx?

Are you the river?

Are you the path?

Are you the giver?

Are you the wrath?

Contraband,

you ain’t no stowaway,

drown you your soul to stray,

that you might know the day.

Can’t you see!

You’re my zealotry,

my hallow shine,

my entropy,

my borderline!

My apathy,

my serpentine,

my gravity,

my paradigm!

Contraband!

Are you a loner?

Are you a goner?

Are you a stoner?

Are you lost?

Are you found?

Are you frost?

Are you drowned?

Ferryman,

I ain’t no stowaway,

drown me my soul to stray,

that I might know the day.

Can’t you see!

I’m your contraband,

your tragedy,

your poker hand,

your strategy!

Your firebrand,

your cavalry,

your motherland,

your apogee!

Contraband,

you ain’t no stowaway.

drown me your soul to stray,

that you might know the day.

Can’t you see!

You’re my contraband,

my tragedy,

my poker hand,

my strategy!

My firebrand,

my cavalry,

my motherland,

my apogee!

I’m in love with your rhyme scheme. I love your use of refrain. It’s a very different kind of poem.
