So today the Country voted, based on what the politicians said
The party with most votes counted, as we adjourn to bed.
For most, come the morning, as the night draws to a close
The nation then will learn, is our leader the one they choose.
Then the job begins, the losers disparate
The winners in their seats of power, gather, congregate.
The Bullingdon Buffon Boris, I feel, will retain his position
Continuing in his current role, this of course, is supposition
As opposition leaders dissipate, and slowly fad from view
Then the struggle really starts, there is a job to do.
Can our Countries Prime Mister deliver on his promise
and our new cabinet prove, to the doubters they are honest
Brexit will be pivotal, to get us off on the right path
The island of Ireland, I fear will vent their wrath
A nation strongly divided; differences unreconciled
As we no longer stand ‘The Great British Isles’
Hospitals in disarray, as waiting lists grow longer
These things and more, I cannot help but ponder
Homelessness more prevalent, poverty increases
The taxes on the rich, in real terms still decreases.
People slowly start to see, the changes that were promised
As each day passes then will see, that governments are dishonest
For if my supposition’s wrong and Corbyn’s voted in
I can promise you for certain, I’ll feel absolutely no chagrin
