Twin Souls

entry picture

Twin Souls

Armani suits hung on their hangers

This is the tale of a doppelgänger

One lives in a penthouse, in exclusive Knightsbridge

Whilst the other dosses, under London bridge

A Bugatti Veyron under wraps

In an exclusive garage as it’s time elapse

Patel Philippe watch, on his wrist

The other struggles to just subsist

One Parties long in to the night

Unaware of the others, woeful plight

Quaffing Moet and Chandon, snorting illicit drugs

Whilst the other rattles a chipped old mug

Every winter spent in warmer climes

The Bow bell tolls, for whom it chimes?

Winter chills, the Thames, iced over

For one, their Soul, will soon crossover

Twin Souls, inextricably bound at birth

One destined for Heaven, the other, Hell on earth.

I like this man, vocabulary is superb.. The line "Every winter spent in warmer climes, The Bow bell tolls, for whom it chimes?" Was this a play on words with the Metallica song "For Whom The Bell Tolls?" Either way yes or no I like it....

The line where it says "Winter chills, the Thames, iced over, For one, their Soul, will soon crossover" really resonated with me and I don't know exactly why but it really stood out. Maybe something with come to me later but yeah awesome Poem PO....

Yep! Don Money, "The root of all evil"

If I don't have any, does that mean that I am evil free... Nope!

Nothing Is free in this world, not even us!

Inequality in man
Is simply caused by greed
For the mighty dollar or
What currency you need

Be it dollar be it pound
Doesn't matter toss
More and more I gotta have it
Don't care. Why? Jus cos

Because John that is how 'The man' wants it.

If we knew who the man was, behind the curtain we would just tear down the illusionary boundaries, and take back control, and then redistribute the world's wealth.

Differently, so differently, we could all live our lives free of tyranny, poverty and control.

Utopia? Hell no. It just takes a few brave souls to set the rest free.

These are the ones 'the man' truly fears and suppresses...

Through bad health care, High taxes. Poison in the water, poison in the ground, poison in our air. AND Puppets in the global governments to maintain their control... Etc.etc.

If people wonder who to vote for, I would simply propound none of the ones that are standing... It is just the same shit in a different (transparent to some) bucket.

The Powers That Be, have always had the power, ever since we learnt how to stand on our own two feet, they have knocked us down and kept us down trodden.

Man has continually tried to pierce the veil; none have prevailed long enough to dissolve the shackles that restrain us.

Many tempted and succumbed, by wealth beyond their imagination... to sway their resolve to bring about lasting change.

Perhaps some live in Knightsbridge!

When their coffers seem a tad low ‘the man’ just instigates another war, then provides the arms to both sides and charges them huge interest rates on their loans to wage war... then more loans to rebuild the carnage these weapons caused, and the infrastructures it destroyed.

Their real bonus, is the massive collateral damage, the reduction of the useless eaters.

Merry Christ mass folks. Oh! and a happy new year to all

A poignant and thought-provoking poem. A lot to ponder here. Life is not fair of course but why such artificially created inequality?

Don, thank you for your considered comments my friend.

I am so blessed, with great poets, surrounding me here at WOL.

I wonder how many realise how lucky we are, to have freedom of expression, without the dreaded mods modifying what we can and we can not write. With the exceptions of a few, 'just' exceptions.

We are a varied bunch of multi talented individuals, each of us with our own unique style and viewpoints. I have learnt so much about this craft, this gift of poetry and prose.

I know I've still much to learn and experiment with, over the next few years. I follow in the footsteps of those who have trod this path before, ever eager to learn.

Thanks for your continued support.

This is so good Po. The way you've organized it with first three lines each verse setting one-soul scene then 'punch-line' last with opposite soul. The last two lines impressive. For me - a brilliant poem.......well done
