Inspirations

First loves inspired my first writings

A collection of lovesick blues

Battles of insecurities

All poured out as quickly as it could

Then poetry and I took a break

The inspirations were out the door

And out of sight

Then all at once, it came back again

Art inspired art

Like a chain reaction

Like a flood gate opening

Like a tsunami wave of poetry

Then it turned to song

And songs I didn't know how to write

And songs that I never knew how to structure

They came so quickly

And rewritten time and time again

Then I got in too deep

Had to stop the waves from crashing into me

I rushed out to the shore and took a step back

Until the next storm came

And it started all over again

Left and right words came pouring out of me

Emotions tormented me

And all the words I could never say

All went to poetry

poetry

This is great Kimberly, particularly the last two verses. And I can certainly relate. The things we were unable to speak about, they found a way out anyway; onto the paper...
