Is there someone?

Across the ocean called life

Sails a letter enclosed in a bottle

It carries a tale in its heart

And hopes one day will be found

Is there someone

Who will look beyond the glass

Discover the human beating heart

Read the story of dreams and despair

Someone who will understand the pain

The letter will continue its journey

A lonely odyssey in the waves

It knows it might never be opened

Lost forever will drown in the depths

Is there someone

Who will open up his heart

To find the letter behind thick glass

Cause most people can see only a bottle

Sailing through the ocean called life

Discover the human beating heart

Read the story of dreams and despair

And that is why we choose art, isn't it? Art is that someone.

Well-written Julia.

My point exactly, is there someone, who would be able to look beyond. There are people in this world carrying letters in their hearts. Hiding behind masks. Desperate to be heard but to scared to open up.

Thanks Cynthia, i appreciate your point of view.

Why not see through? If someone deliberately hides in the dark, how could or why would anyone else choose to penetrate it? Just a germ of additional thought on your theme, which is a challenging idea, stimulating discussive reaction. IMO, a prime factor of good poetry.

Well done.

Thank you Cynthia, i imagine the bottle to be made out of thick, armed dark glass. Def not see through.

Imaginative. The final two lines are a good summary. Interestingly, how clear is the bottle?
