Exiting prospect of singularity

Coming to a finishing line

we have never crossed before

unfaltering our E.U. membership cards returned

unneeded anymoreย

U.K.'s leaving is forever

any chance of resurrection dead

never again shall Great Britain's sovereignty be

by common markets interventions bled

we'll go on wanton repairing past and forthcoming problems

standing alone once more on this white cliffed proud plateau

free again to walk new paths

to where only WE decide to go

fresh trade flowering our Island garden

reset its bloodstream, regain the battling pace

rising above all old European smouldering ashesย

this phoenix will with the world's oysters

build a better nesting place.

Thank's guys. If only we were all as positive as you are Keith and M.C.

As our past adversaries have learned to their dismays we have and always will, no matter what the situation, come through with-

' flag unfurled ' ๐Ÿ‘
' rich in democratic values/ unsurpassable ' ๐Ÿ‘

( I say this while remembering to prostrate myself before the feet of His Lordship Mr Matthews ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ‘

Nice of you to acknowledge me
As mentor with your rhymes

(A nod and thumbs up is all it takes between drinking buddies. Or a wink as dk would say)

Also nice when some bow down
At my feet sometimes ๐Ÿ˜‹

Positive thinking...always acceptable in this age of nay-sayers and no
hopers.
Now is not the time to swerve,
We only need to keep our nerve
And see the nation's flag unfurled
As once more we set out in the world. ๐Ÿ‘

Leon,

This poem begs a comment as you can imagine in the present climate. Sadly the debate has gone on for far too long for any interest to be held. The backdrop of this issue is a parliament of myopic bats, sheer incompetence and the ill informed. We have nothing to fear from the outcome as we are a nation rich in culture, tradition and democratic values, the envy of the world and with a language which is unsurpassable.

Thank you for this
Keith

Cheers Devon. One thing we need to avoid is the scaremongering that only helps to inflame the situ, panic buying and all that jazz.

( The rhyming use
is a nod in the direction of Don Matthews by the way ) ๐Ÿ‘

On this side of the pond, we hear all the news of the Brexit quandary. But it is far more interesting to read the works and comments as you discuss this among yourselves.
