City Eyes

Concrete faces

Open their eyelids

And I take a look inside

Into a life that is not my own.

Why did I have to read the comments to work out what you meant? Maybe cos I just woke up. Literally. In just 4 lines! Magic, my girl.....

Thanks Penguin for the brilliant suggestion! I like my poem much more now.

@devon, thank you as always for the love. You have hit the nail on the head on exactly what inspired me to write this.

You might consider starting at Concrete faces....avoids the eyes/eyelids repetition for one thing.

Adriana,

I like this poem. It reminds me of John Cheever's short story "The Enormous Radio". I also reminds me of walking to the El in Chicago as people were lifting the blinds and opening their curtains. I couldn't help but look as I walked. Thank you for bringing those memories back.
