Forgotten Sloop Dreams

Down the thin trail, to the hard to find,
known only to the locals, overgrown,
every creekbank in the world,
there's a busted dinghy,
with a mudstuck sprung transom
and a gasping for air bow,
tied to a cattail or some other
tenuous stem.

Thanks Lisa, Rose and Shawn. There are certain things that I come across that I find haunting in their questions - always unanswered. As if they dare you to tell their story.

Reminds me of when my 8 year old nephew sent his neighbor's boat downstream. He thought it would be funny...then he wrote a story about the whole adventure!
