The Lazarus Tears

The night brings rain

on a curtain of cool air

it falls like secret promises

that will never be kept

our house stands proud in the deluge

the tracks now not so easily traced

morning Sun will raise up the dew

like Lazarus tears

and the day so resplendently renewed

resurrects the remnants of all our fears

Hello David – sorry to have picked up on this late in the day.

I enjoyed this very much – lots coming out of a few words and sentences; very much your brand.

All best.

Thank you Ray and Cynthia,

You have both been extremely kind with your comments and I value them as they are demonstrably thoughtful.

I sat up through the night last night, I was out in the landscape in a beautifully isolated area. There was an expectation of a storm and the air was still and heavy...I lay on a dry stone wall watching the clouds gather was a lovely thing to behold, to watch nature mustering her forces...

Somehow this came out of that, it was a beautiful night and the morning crowned it off with the most serene Sun skating across the sky.

Thank you both so much.

The intent formed, and the words found and developed, by a great thinker and a master craftsman. IMO, a really fine work.

Hi David; refreshing but with a sense of foreboding - as uncontrollable as the weather itself which has its own agenda. Better perhaps to have a deluge and a catharsis...
