SNOW IN JULY

I'd prefer a rose in December

To snow in July

As far as I remember

But that's to be expected

Common sense has its infirmities

Deformities and affinities

Nothing happens too late

That isn't taboo

 floating like the moon,.

above these stone-built houses of Lancaster

ell me a story of endurance

Despite the fact that I'm illiterate,

N'I'don't know nothin,

My eyes were deceived by your promises

Of an abiding luck

A shaman, who once, said to me,

Don't rely on a break in the moon

Or a birth or a death,

Just pray to get through today

I do and I

Take breath

On my holy day

She said to me

I love thee

Not to death

But far-far beyond

Where the meagre words of this sing-song-song

Were sung so-long, long ago

In a place I no longer know.

Another winner John, it reminds me of a short story I wrote more than twenty years ago called 'Snowflakes in June'
I like the link to Mazzy star. Strangely I watching this very same video only yesterday.

Nice one
