an old, old drinking buddy as an example

Mostly I remember his prolific brows

his regularly, beer frothed whiskers

( frothed at my expense but what the hell )

under the worst trilby, I have ever seen

one that I would not even be seen dead in

and it makes me sad

for I too have uncared for myself

never correcting what has needed correcting

about the slipped through the net times in my life

though the leftover chances are still there as I write

but like you and me, we are all nearly always too busy

to recognise their worthinesses

too busy to find them, necessary in our rushings

to get where we keep passing the me's myself's and I's

on the way back.

I too wish to stop and stare

and save, myself from the accusations of time abuser

hoping to recapture some of the more sensible intentions

that would put me, myself and I back on the right road

where me, myself, and I would at last

all be going in the same one and only truly useful direction.

thank's guys in both liking and commenting. Strange to say but sometimes you do see yourself in more ways than one in other people. Same mannerisms, same anxieties, same outlooks on life.

Unfortunately for some of those people, their end scenarios are grim which if you take proper notice of and doing so with time to improve one's lot it feels as if they are inadvertently doing you one of the biggest and one of the most important favours one can ever receive.

It is so easy to get so involved in the stuff of life that we forget about others. I am not proud to say I have been there and done it.
As Rose says its never too late

"I too have uncared for myself,"
"the slipped through the net times,"
"to get where we keep passing [ourselves] on the way back," favorite phrases in this one.
You're mellow and caring. Fixed on "worthinesses!" Sweet, self-remonstrating reflections. What a feeling poem!
