a father in law

A Father in law

An Impatient knock on my door

The father of the woman I divorced fifty years ago

Demanded the sofa I had promised.

I didn’t have the piece of furniture anymore

And offered him an apple, he ate it and some nuts

On a tray while going on about the sofa.

Since I was expecting guests, the nuts were for them

I promised to buy him a new one tomorrow.

I bought the item it is my living room as the father

Of the woman, I divorced fifty years ago didn’t return

◄ dreaming a poem
