Poetry Competition 6 – 16 years

As part of Marsden the Poetry Village, Write Out Loud, we are holding a poetry competition on the theme of ‘Together’.

Over the last few months we have held poetry events and workshops with local schools and organisations. We have also been running an International Poetry Competition which is being judged by Patience Agbabi.

Winning entries to this competition are being published in an anthology in the autumn. We want to include young people’s poems as well. There will also be the opportunity for some of the entries to be exhibited alongside paintings, in the Marsden Mechanics foyer for the month of July, to coincide with Artweek (7th-13th July).

You are invited to enter a poem on the theme of ‘Together’, accompanied with a painting (optional). It can be in any style and ideally up to 20 lines long. It can be an individual or a group poem. There will be three age categories:

6-8 years                  9-11 years                12-16 years

Entries should be returned to ……………………………………………………………………..

(insert school/organisation leader)

by Monday June 24th or can be emailed to louisewriteoutloud@gmail.com

Please make sure you include your name, age and contact email or phone number.

Good luck.

We look forward to receiving your entries.

Successful entries will be informed by July 20th.
