You woke me to share the moon,

Seasoned with stars, like savoury floss.

Devoured in seconds, we tasted heaven.

Immediate passions sated,

Still, ravenous greed sought planets and satellites.

Imagining unexplored alien foods,

We belched in satisfaction.

David - Nice to see Wolfie still howling at the moon! I was thinking more along the lines of mans eternal discontent at his lot, however well served he might be. As always, the reader determines their own 'meaning' (if indeed there is one). Keep biting back matey.

Good morning Rob,

good to see you here.

It strikes me this could be about insatiable lust for the flesh or about mans destructive greed and ever increasing need to expand his domain.

Either way, to boldly go where many or none have gone before.

Live long and prosper friendo.

David.

Ray - Nice to see your filthy mind 'jumped' to a 'romantic entanglement' as the theme to this piece! Thanks for the kind words and thoughts.

Hi Rob, nice to see you on here again! I would say this poem is stylish with a feeling of greedy satisfaction. An unusual last line as if to add just a tincture of self indulgence to what seems to be a variation on a post coital smoke.
