Overtures

A cascade of tears
for pains in the past
sadness pours from within
Beethoven soothes the heart

A bleeding soul
stabbed by love
weighted with regret
Mozart heals the wounds

A lifeless body
abandoned and bleak
falls from shattered dreams
Stravinsky awakenes hope

Melodic overtures
avenging times of strife
tranquility ascends
Everything is better with music!

Jane,

This poem speaks to me as no other as I always resort to music to mop my fevered brow and bring healling to my troubled soul. Of course all our tastes are different. When upset or angered I brood and it has to be with Rachmaninov, then I take up Peer Gynt´s Morning song ( the recovery mode) and when back on my feet I kick off my shoes and play a selection of Francisco Canaro´s Milongas as I stride about my sitting room with a rose clenched between my teeth, ready to do battle with the world yet again.

A poem from a musical heart. Well done.

Keith
