written on behalf of the family a young man (heavy smoker) dying of lung cancer

My child,

my son,

my friend and mentor,

your are part of me

I made you what you are,

and now you stand alone, an independant self,

robbed of your living by corporate greed

and their obsessive drive for wealth.

They disregard you dying, my parental crying,

and shrug away your life.

my child,

my son,

my friend and mentor,

you stand alone to face your pain

and I to live your sorrow,

those with most to gain show no remorse.

You are part of me, I gave you life,

you gave me reason for my being,

they've used you for a sacrifice,

fair game for bleeding.

Really well said Dorothy. It really worries me, the extent some people are prepared to go to, to make a buck. It can be a sad, brutal, callous world, only tempered by kind hearts.
