And so with a sigh

a gentle breeze may

cool foreheads with a kiss,

ruffle a child’s hair,

uplift a butterfly,

sow a flower seed,

raise a guttered petal

into dancing sunshine,

and so I sigh.

Thanks again everyone - I think I'm cursed to continue poetry - I want to give it up but then... but then where to go? I wake around 3:30 and read and as I read words burrow into my head and once they're there I get no peace - anyhow on with the motley. 😊

Yes I concur! Do not abandon poetry, please! Although I don't worry, because the very fact that you feel like ridding yourself of your poetic daemon is typical of a poet or artist of other trade! In poetry I believe that: "The less, the more!" (For lack of a better term.) I wish I could cut down on words and maximize in depth.
Thank you🎈

Purely insightful, and delightful. Do not abandon poetry. You will not be happy. Besides, I think it's impossible; it's in both brain and blood.

Wonderful. So little on the page, so much left for the reader to contemplate...

Thanks, both of you - I seem to have run out of mental energy for longer pieces and these 'lite-bites' seem to say a lot in a few words - they'll go into my next book - again thanks both of you - I am teetering on the edge of abandoning poetry (often and frequently) the devil in my head says it's futile - your kindness is so heartening 😃

Your words move me do very deeply. Beautiful. One of the most beautiful poems I've read all year, maybe ever.
Thank you for this🎈

Rick
if only there was a ' I really love this button'

it is so beautiful and is as light as your sigh

If I hadn't joined WoL. I would never have been able to experience beautiful words like these.

Thank you for them

Dorothy
