Running up Moonbeams

Running up Moonbeams

Between life and death is a magical space

Where dreams are born, for you to chase

Some begin early and are dashed too soon

Others elusive, like the beams of the moon

Every once in a while as your path you traverse

From swaddled in a cot, to laid out in a hearse

Two souls will converge in a blending of time

As two become one, and in silent mime

Each acts out their thoughts, without words being said

Knowing full well, what’s inside the others head

Two hearts beating truly as one, each breath you take

Gives life to the other, whom you’ll never forsake.

Then at deaths bitter parting, a brief moment alone

Memories flood back, of the time you both owned

Wandering briefly, then chasing the your dreams

Again running up moonbeams, where your lover is seen.

So many nice thoughts in this piece! I think my favorite line is "two hearts beating truly as one" that line really spoke volumes to me.

Hi Farawla

I have made a life study of Parapsychology; The study of mental phenomena that cannot be explained by known psychological or scientific principles, e.g. psychic ability, mediumship, extrasensory perception, remote viewing, etc.

In the past I wrote and published several articles on the paranormal, including 'Seeing and sensing the Aura'
'How to develop mediumship' 'The differences between ghosts and spirits' 'The truths of hauntings and possessions' to name a few.

I am in the middle of writing a short story in verse here at WOL.

It is called 'The UNDERWOOD' You might like to read that, it is currently up to Page 6. I am about to start Chapter 2.

You will find it on my Profile Page

Thank you so much for reading my poems. I like your poems. You are a great poet. Do you write stories and articles too?

The term soulmates is so often glibly bandied around.

This is a subject that is often misunderstood and or misinterpreted.

Do, you have the understanding, that is the most important thing.

It is not so much about what or how we think, rather it is about how we feel at a much deeper level, than this superficial world.

Which sadly for most of us, keeps us distracted and preoccupied.

Poetry is a great way to contact our own soul, without that connection, we could not hope to connect with the soul's of others.

Lovely poem dear Po somehow I love these poems based on soul connections....i truly believe that love without any soul connection is empty lacks the spark and the die for you feeling.
Souls met in the world above and the souls do recognize eachother i feel. But due to the body and worldly knowledge, it takes time to recognize and takes time to realize the unbreakable bond and connection.

Hi Vautaw

Thank you for your kind suggestion.

How right you are.

Perhaps I will pen a verse or two expounding my thoughts on your question.

Running up that line. It would make a fitting title too. This topic is near to my heart. I have often wondered if souls recognize each other from another space and time. Thanks for sharing your gifts Po. ??☄️
