Yellow Daze

Yellow Daze

Driving through Toodyay

in late August before

Spring arrives officially

yellow makes me smile.

Broome just opening

dotted with hives

flavouring the honey

and signs: ‘Beware Bees’.

Field undulating through

hills, no straight lines sewn

to follow dips, valleys,

creeks and around trees.

Canola makes me smile.

In fields waiting to be seeded,

purple spikes take advantage

of a clear run to the sun.

Some giant brush has been busy.

Far hills are painted ochre

as we enter another Shire,

splashed with blue Leshenaultia.

Spring’s finished painting...

English fields are patch-worked.

Here in Western Australia, we let

land and trees decide the design.

G'day again Ray, I posted a short poem, in contract, a couple of days ago and hope you like it too. 😃

G'day Ray!
Thank you for your understanding words... I am well.
Yes, my intention was to share feeling of the colours so often found under our bright blue skies and warm sun.
Your snow looks so beautiful, soft and pure... I remember seeing it for the first time and marveling.
Hope you had a wonderful festive season and wish you a happy, productive and healthy 2019.

I can't let this go without revealing my intense pleasure in the great sweep of what you seem to do so well, Frances. True in style and in touch with the overall picture; great on this rainy day, sad for its loss of snow.
Hope all is well with you!
