If I knew, what anger was, it might look a bit like this…

I spend all day and half the night, trying to make stuff rhyme
Pondering over random words, then arrange them in a line
Hoping in some abstract sense, non-figurative stuff I figure
That will when read by others, engender comments that it triggers

Call me an old fuddy-duddy, a fossil , calcified in time
A dinosaur, a Dodo bird, or some primordium slime
Maybe, I’m way ahead of time, or perhaps not yet conceived
At least I am not lobotomized… Am I sounding like I’m peeved

When I write and post my stuff, some readers seem to think
That rather than think for themselves. an emoji saves them ink
And time of course that must be said, It goes without saying
A twitch of their index finger, over their mouse button swaying

Make an effort please, if you can, just one real word will do
If however you now think, I am getting at you…
Remember you can always say…
                                                           … “#uck you and adieu”

Dave I do feel these are dumbing us down to be honest.

I do not think they are ever posted as an offensive term
I thought I ought to just add this!

Mind you my IQ is smaller than my waist ;0)

btw: Your secret is safe with me

I would wager that there are a few here who had many an acid fueled conversation with 'Mr Smiley'

Vautaw thank you for commenting.

It seems that we are devolving when it comes to expressing our thoughts and feelings to something akin to cave painting.

I remember well when the only one in common use was that bright little yellow fellow the smiley face.

How cute he was in all his youthful innocence
t-shirts and mugs he adored not forgetting VW hippy vans.

Arrrrr Those were the psychedelic days of 'my' youth.

Kids today hey!

The older I get the more I get old.

Oh how I can relate on the time spent arranging words! Incredibly frustrating at times, but so satisfying when the words fit like puzzle pieces and resonate with readers enough to make them comment, which in this ADHD age is quite an accomplishment!

when you piss on fire
all you're left with is rising steam

Look within!

When standing on the burning deck
check which way the wind blows

Roget's Thesaurus is useful
if you really need to rhyme,
but assonance is just as good
for nearly all the time.......

Don't worry too much, Po. Pretty much everybody on the site reads my shit, but only the ones that don't have their heads up their asses even mildly comment on them

Until I write something about a children's rhyming club or mention something that applies to them. Oh man, I have some fire waiting to release!
