The Color of a Wing

entry picture

This future of a hundred bones in a sea full of a soap or lye,

‘Tis sugar of a rugged stone from the twinkle of an ogre’s eye,

Emergencies are in power like they’re dead men in a gator glade,

Eternity in a flower but the present on a razor blade,

Greeting visions with a braid and sash like they’re corpses with a morgue lever,

Seeing prisms in a blade of grass and the horses in the Worcester,

Treating pockets to a jewel, spare a knot’s twine for the hues in tide,

Bleeding rhombus in the pool, there’s a hotline for a suicide,

Retreating when our death is now and cheating on the best of Sal when the opposition steps on back,

If leading to the depths of Hell and breathing as the rest then fell into apocalyptic tesseracts,

Rest above us and not in stones so biblical and then often miss it,

Bless the colors and homophones, the cynical, and the optimistic,

Sever the reins to the sum of the hellions and cats in the gutter where the liars die,

Capture the rays of the sun in the belly of a glass like the flutter of a firefly,

Killing ‘til their son is dead, and pleading as they pray so hard,

Wilting when the sun will set, and evening is a day apart,

Fathers say their hopes and goals pose edits to their ardent loves,

Potter clay and broken souls both mended by the artist’s brush,

The blackest room will stay in tune and bear the wings of ocean loam,

A crack, a groom, a fray, a suit, a tear that sings and sews its own,

Grass is green when gas is seen, and hastily the past will leave its wrath and cease when times are better,

Blasphemy, it has to be, and factually and actually like bad police the signs are there,

Nothing helps in saving Man from praising shooters,

Crushing shells, or scraping sands, and shaping futures,

Clutch the goals and flush the mind if the past is still shit,

Love is bold, and love is blind, but the mask will still split.

Thanks, Jon. The sentiment is one I am all too familiar with here.

And for 2019, Po, (thanks by the way) I was going to release poetry from my free e-chapbooks that I never did release, all the way up until February 28 to bridge the gap between now and my 3rd official release, "The Tyrian Tesseract". Then in late 2019 to early 2020, I am planning material for a fourth anthology of poems I am code-naming, "Radical".

Let's just say that all these pieces are a taste of what's to come. If you've been around to read the newest poems, then you don't want to miss out the closer we get to February.

Next month during the release of my book, I am also going to compile all of these poems (and any others might have missed) into one, easily downloadable .zip file containing all the poems I have done in this time period. There will be poetry, and there will be rhymes - this I promise.😎

That last quatrain is superb Big Guy!

This whole piece needs an audio posting

rhyming scheming screaming theming dreaming beaming redeeming

Tell me we've got another whole year of this!

Goddam, you do it so well. This line... Tis sugar of a rugged stone from the twinkle of an ogre’s eye

It's so good, it could inspire me to write a story about it.....
