Keith & Tina's Lightshow

entry picture

Keith from up the road's house

is lit up like a christmas tree

Blackpool illuminations

emit less light than he

Snowmen in the garden

and reindeer on the roof

The height of vulgar taste

as if you needed proof

He says he's done it all

just to keep Tina happy

Tina thinks it's classy

We all think it's tacky

Of things you can see from outer space

nothing could be finer

than the sight of Keith and Tina's

and the Great Wall of China

It costs him a bloody fortune

This month two hundred quid

More power to his elbow

I've got shares in National Grid

Knocked out in 20 minutes

It may surprise you
Brian to know
That Tina's sis Gina
Thinks it's all for show

Can you actually believe
She tried to short circuit
This electrical show
The current, invert it

Inverting the current?
Gosh, that sounds top class
Don't mess with my Gina
She's got plenty brass

So what is the attitude
Of Gina's creator?
He thinks it's a game
Between neighbor baiters ?

I bought a real Christmas tree from Lidl last year (after Christmas when it was reduced to £3.50). I kept it going all year so now it's actually bigger. I bought some lights from the pound shop (£1 not including batteries). I know I've probably gone over the top a bit, but I felt pressurised to do my bit.

I don't know about seeing them from space, but you can make them out from the far end of the drive

Spot on view of a modern seasonal phenomenon, this odd obsession
with outdoing the neighbours and merely illuminating a taste for
