The non believer
So the nice man from Sandhurst with the shiny peak, went out in the mid-day sun.
I watched him climbing up the hill and walk down when his job was done.
So polite and well spoken was he, as eloquence thus dictates, to talk to the iman in the shed on the hill, who some both revere and hate.
“I simply told him the truth”, he went on,
“Reminding him of a converstion years before, about what would happen to him and this land, if I had to darken his door once more”.
“You can’t convey a threat if you have no intention of carrying it out,”
He went on.
“To this end I left with no doubt in my mind, and now vividly painted in his.
The consequencies of his epic folly. Which I spelt out succinctly are this.
Nothing will ever grow in this place, nothing indeed will survive
Now! And for thousands of years, and a ‘half life’
Your country will know what it’s like to unlive”
The Captain also used some other ‘taboo’ words. I was f’n terrified!
From experience I knew, that what he said, he ment
and amageddon was about to transpire!
Fast forward an aeon, that’s a very long time
Thus portending an end to my prophetic little rhyme
A young lad I saw kneling on this 'still' barren land
I could hear him praying to Allah, as he asked...
"What was it, Iman failed to understand?”
