Men on the Moon

entry picture

A colder land in the snow will bleed through in the briar’s path,

I hold your hand as you grow and lead you to the brighter patch,

Seeping through libations and praying when the day came,

Keeping you hydrated and staying on my A-game,

Poured the cup in my eyes and I felt you feel the way I cry,

You’re the love of my life and I’d help you ‘til the day I die,

A set plan like an etching has come to the west end,

The best man at my wedding, my son, and my best friend,

Forever be at home when your heaven seeks an urn,

You never leave a stone and you never leave unturned,

Cedars sawn as timber shakes if trees are gone with wickers weighed with the hemp or the hunter,

Leave it on a dinner plate and we can bond if winter’s late at the end of the summer,

Living dangers with a candle and mixing wagers with our satchels as ensembles are then rebuffed,

Lynching gangsters as examples and gifting neighbors with the samples like they’re apples or a prenup,

I’ll read to you with night to stay and plot the charges of the trouble,

I’ll lead you to the light of day and not the darkness of the tunnel,

A gunner crowned as Jesus next if heavens live for weeks in the past if it’s an offer,

The sun is down and leaves are dead, so let us kick our feet in the ashes of the water,

We’re then waiving our win since we won pulling on a rickshaw,

The cradling of kin and the undoing of a slipknot,

I’ll hug you in your room and ask to feel this blessed to laugh,

I love you to the moon and back and ‘til my flesh turns to ash.

Beautiful. Very moving. Some gorgeous lines good enought to sink a knife and fork into....particularly, "Poured the cup in my eyes and I felt you feel the way I cry,
You’re the love of my life and I’d help you ‘til the day I die"

Wow, thank you much, Taylor. Every time I accomplish such a feat, I am always humbled. It takes a lot of emotion in a powerhouse kick to deliver the right pressure at all the right places.

- Micheal 'Eyedea' Larsen

I am happy to be writing poetry that can do such a wonderful job at what this quote conveys. Times like this I am proud to be a writer and a poet.🌷
