so much time
   spent in boxes
   hemming minds
   hearts horizons

   so many boxes
   to spend time in
   we choose
   others dictate

   boxes to play
   or earn a living
   sky-high mine deep
   beach view asleep

   boxed we’re born
   returned again
   bush delivery or
   crispy clean

   symbolic boxes
   that drive insane
   other ideals
   chasing a dream

   boxing all pleasure
   imprisoning pain
   impossible striving
   material gain

   in every life
   the very last box
   delivers a eulogy
   all gather to see

   illustrating a life
   lived in boxes

G'day Georgina Knowles and Cynthia Buell Thomas,
Thanks again for your wonderful comments.
I need to clarify my current social media: I've cancelled BOTH Yahoo websites for Poets Corner WA and Frances Macaulay Forde.
However, I fully intend to post on this site regularly.
My blog is here:
I also post on ABC Tales and an avid Pinterest poster where I file everything of interest on different boards.
Thanks for your support - that's the reason I'm back on here now... Looking forward to catching up on all your poems.

Again, thanks Cynthia. Have you looked at my webpage here: ? I have more examples on there, also on my three blogs I've just started to talk more about my inspirations for writing, poems and screenwriting:

Frances, I left a lengthy comment that just disappeared. Enjoyed this a lot - neat clipped lines full of extended meanings. The same idea of 'spending time' used so closely together must be for emphasis. It would also have worked as a recap idea at the end, for me, perhaps more impactively. Look forward to more posts.
