Call Me the Evergreen

The frost kicks

A jolt to my tender ribs

A cough of angry and perseverance leave me

Leave me, alone in this frozen hell.

My friends all left when the weather turned.

Cowards, each and every one

But what’s done is done.

I’ll just call for a god in this hallow

It’s desolate.

But I’ll withstand this winter.

Call me the Evergreen.

Glory has lost all its meaning.

Beauty it’s special place.

The hail raining from above has buried morality

And the ice, stings my withered face.

Survivability seems all that has reason

Primal would love to become my name

I stand alone

That solitary solider,

As the hell above rains

How it reigns!

But I WILL withstand this winter.

Call me the Evergreen

you're not so alone in this winterland. some friends leave by the door while others enter quietly through the windows. I hope you can be the Evergreen. lovely evocative piece Ridge. Deb x

Nice one Ridge. Very imaginative, I am liking your lyrical genius. Again another brilliant piece of work.
