The Mother’s Day

Mama, do you remember?

You keep the photographs

under your pillow

Each night still kiss us

All those memories of us

you treasure deep

in your heart

Mama, do you understand?

Life rushes away, runs so fast

It’s hard to keep up

Each second lost

cost more

Mama, why are you so sad?

You sit here by your window

All alone

Waiting for someone

you love to come home

Mama, why are you crying?

There are tears streaming

down your face

Your eyes filled with

pools of lonely sadness

Mama, is there still hope?

Can we go back

Is there still time for us

Can we fix what’s broken

in our lives

Mama, what is it?

Today is your day

to celebrate

So, mama smile

Cause today

is Mother’s Day…

Hi Big Sal,

I think I am a bit taller this morning 😊

To hear that from you is a dream come true! Thank you!!!!! 😘

You are right I should back up, I feel that all my writings are in a very safe place here on WOL. But you never know. Accidents happen... I will back up. Thank you for your advice xxx

I sure hope you keep all these gems locked away in a notebook and/or a flash drive somewhere. Too much emotion and talent to simply publish online and nowhere else. I always encourage people to back up their art elsewhere, but in your case I think it could really help preserve your poems in case you don't have this site in the future. The true embodiment of art and talent deserves to be preserved, especially from the great ones.😉

I understand totally with this one Anya. Like Colin my mother is about the same amount of distance away. Fortunately .I have just visited her, but it is always a concern

Thank you so much for commenting and liking 😘

Colin, Damon, Darren, J R Harris, Jon ! Thank you so much! X

And I am sorry, for making you guys feel guilty.

I just had to write it...
My sister in law told me about this amazing woman, so sad and lonely. It got me feeling...

I am guilty too. My mum is in Poland. My sister and I, we both live abroad. I phone my mum almost every day, but that is just an excuse. So there you go...😢

yes I agree Jon - such is our lives, all spread out and not just across the Uk but across the world. I'm seeing my Mum soon, aware that it has been too long. I just wish there wasn't 250 miles of traffic clogged motorways in between us - but that's not an excuse either. Anya, you have tugged on our heartstrings and made us feel guilty for neglecting our poor mothers! You are a good soul and have written this well. Thanks, Col.

😢 So, sad, but true. We are all caught up in our 'busy' lives we forget our loved ones. Me, included.

Inspired by a true story of a wonderful woman living in Poland, forgotten by her kids...

And I am sure, a true story of many people...

Dedicated to all those lonely souls 💔

With love ...
