how heavy the loss

entry picture

we've been separated

from a beautiful friendship

shared with so many here

and many more in his life

filled with his gifts of wit his wisdom

and inspiration

no longer

declares the cruel voice of time

and I choke on tears

no more

says the harsh uncompromising

ever present claimant

and I sit cornered by sadness

listening to the whispering of a memory

with your name in it

reminding me to

remember! remember! remember!

My dear friend Harry

because of everything you were

and still are in spirit

because of the wonderful legacy you left

for us all

how could I ever fail to do so?

Thank you Mr Newberry for a very much deserved comment on Harry's behalf and for the comforting words of Dr Seuss.

How right they are.

Perfectly expressed, and with Tom Doolan's post, would
no doubt bring a smile from the man himself across the
divine divide separating life and death. As for Harry's presence and influence on WOL - allow me to adapt some lines attributed to Dr Seuss:
"Don't cry because it's over;
Be happy that it happened."
