hyped up hypocrites

Tailing the week

this Sabbath day.

My Sunday morning lie-in

is once more being made to feel

like the actions of a disbeliever

by the disturbing 'get out of bed and come to Jesus'

spire hatted bells

clanging for all they are worshippingly worth

and devil denying family pods I know will be

shuffling in queues

towards the vicars welcoming limp wristed pale handshake

and his intent

to cleanse their souls

according to the bittersweet instructions

in Gods redeeming manual

there, in that sinner's sanctuary,

a few hundred yards from the alehouse

where many soon after will gather

to begin a fresh round of denting their moral standards

they glorify the Creators name

in song and repetitive mumblings

the collective sound escaping as usual

to drone its moaning organ accompanied way

into my ears

expressing itself in wave after mantra-like wave

of thankfulness for # all good things around us#

and of course, done so by the over the top smiling singers

who will till they return here for clerical correctitude,

be making sure they maintain the memberships

of the 'I'm alright Jack' club.

◄ the ignoring of J.C.Clarke

how heavy the loss ►

like this one Rose very much.

I often wonder when you see the packed churches on Songs of praise if they are as full as that when the cameras are not there?

No prizes for guessing! ?
