mentally arresting the ages awhile

I lower my tired feet

into the lake water

while landscape viewing.

I condense too many questions

into a few.

Will the heat of last summer

warm the mid seasons this year?

What happened to that cute little calf

I helped pull from its mother's womb?

Will I walk the same happy paths

my mother and father walked

through this life?

Asking myself is put aside

as I consider the empire of Rome

and see the early christians

being martyred in amphitheatres

and further still into history

to the fires in caves

of prehistoric

dinosaur hunters

these times and others

are the roads to today

to where I am at this very moment

cooling my submerged feet

I have tampered enough

with centuries, for now,

no doubt I shall tamper with them again

as amazed and grateful

as I have been on each previous tamperings

as I will be on those forthcoming

amazed and grateful  for how and why

they have delivered me here

to a place in life of which

I have not one single complaint.

a wonderfully dreamy kind of poem Leon. Our fave outdoors location is Anglesey in North Wales.

Roll on summer! break out the tents!

thank's Rose. It was indeed a reference to my natural surrounds at the time (Lake district)

As for everyday complaints I've lost count! 😁

Hi Leon, this reminds me somewhat of 'Leisure' by William Henry Davies.

Not sure about not having a single complaint though dude
unless of course, you are referring to what you were viewing visually

in which case neither would I!
