Once upon a time in Princes gate when I saw heroism in full magnificent flow

entry picture

on that day

when hope was falling

at the hour

when the iron lady's

patience died

stepped up each

to his elite calling

trained to dare

to protect our pride.

Their performance

kept the whole world's

breath suspended

we heard the BOOMS!

the rapidity of fierce gunplay

by Bob and the black-clad boys

was the 'game' soon ended

twenty-five were given

back their lives that day.

Dedicated to 'Backdoor' Bob Curry and his SAS buddies

and to my fellow write out loud poet, gentleman

and army veteran Mr Keith Jefferies.

I think it will a favourable outcome for this guy MC but it really shouldn't have to come to this at all. Disgraceful!

Jemima, no one could blame you for making an innocent mistake like that. And Rose, I think things will turn out ok in the end no thanks to the people who should have sorted it out in the first place, and we all know who they are!

Leon, I remember when first seeing this on telly I asked my father who had been watching it before I came into the room, what is this film called Dad? Some film! Very brave guys indeed for who we do have to be grateful that they are on our side. Thank you. Jemima.

Good stuff! We forget too easily sometimes. Whatever
the background to the news, it is hoped that a deserving
public hero can be helped to maintain a free from worry life to come.

my absolute pleasure Keith. Love the poetical comparison.

In case you are not aware at the mo, the Andy McNab petition on behalf of Bob Currys housing problem has so far topped the two hundred thousand marker

no doubt that will rise massively. Cheers bud!

Leon, thank you. All this reminds me of Rudyard Kipling´s Poem ¨ Tommy ¨ The final stanza:-

For it´s Tommy this, an Tommy that and chuck him out the brute
But it´s the saviour of his country when the guns begin to shoot.
