Nature in the dock

entry picture

people of our old streets have gone,

the old streets themselves have gone

those new spaces now live as one huge meadow

home to wildlife and wild flower's

untouched as yet by land snatching developers

will it stay that way or is it to be imprisoned

under the feet of a housing estate giant?

if so I'm depending on appreciative ramblers

to slip as many hacksaws of protests as possible

through the bars

before the sentence is passed.

it would be my absolute pleasure to do that for you keith it would, of course, be a metaphorical one for now unless things get worse.

That could very well happen Jemima according to the housing situation at the moment and you may be right in your assumptions Pat and Stef where there is money to be made and no matter how, it will be.

a piece of land close to where we live is under threat despite it not only being a conservation area but also where there are some very old graves

smacks of backhanders we think

it is without any doubt at all Leon that I think lots of other people would certainly agree with both you and keith. We all must stand up against these 'land snatchers' before they turn this country into one big city. A well-worded poem. Thank you.Jemima.
