passing the vets

entry picture

it could be summertime

but when I pass that place

it is winter in my heart

where I spend most of my tears

to purchase forgiveness

for my unavoidable decision

of not wanting my beloved canine friend (Angel)

to suffer anymore

I could take another route

but I don't want forgetfulness

to take hold.

I need the memories of him

so badly

despite their punishings.

The only thing

I want to forget

forever

is the word

goodbye

◄ jeez mum! stop wearing teenagers clothes!

oh, that unrecognised state even words cannot rescue us from Big Sal! because there the pain is too deep and too personal and lasts so long.

My thanks.

Gone too soon; when words seem to heal the pain and move us forward beyond recognition.

The penalties of loving pets is that final visit to the vets Rose. The sad thing is that they can never say goodbye .

Beautifully written on a very sad subject.
I too went through this with my cat.
Animals are so blameless and we have to take these big decisions.
Thank you for writing this.
