taking a leaf from the book of animality

closer than us to the earth's soul

deeper submerged in its workings

the worlds creature's of every size and denomination

know more of this their home that we superficially share,

in ways  forever to be unfamiliar to us

it is we who dwell apart from what really matters

abiding in the less important distracting processions

of materialistic offerings

that the misguidance of thought displays

but they, the innocents of the wild are thankfully bereft of such concerns.

Marooned between past and present

we are rarely able

to conceive the real gifts of our location

which  these beautiful creations view and deeply almost spiritually understand

they are the mind spaces beyond human enclosures

that we have locked ourselves out from.

Will we ever be associated

with the amazement's of their awarenesses

and allow the heartbeats of this planet

to liberate long hidden senses though put aside,

that if set free

we could be anointed with those unused existing wonders

temptingly close to our tiny minded comprehension's

that we could finally recognize we are all pieces of the same diamond......called life

Rose, we know you are not interested in competing for poem of the week but if you had been then this surely should have deserved consideration.

Blown away!

Raj though I love your reference to nature being our teacher
it is just a shame that so many of us continue being unruly pupils.

Ta Jemsbabe-will do-why wouldn't I? 😏

Trev (belated congrats on POTW matey) I agree with your views and wonder if we will ever get to the point where there is nothing left to collect?

True John.Donating my thought food to your thinking fund is my pleasure.Very well done your daughter!

Absolutely, Rose. I often think that we don't live in tune with the world - we live despite it! We moved away from the hunter/gatherer model to a species that just collects things from a store, with no thought of how it got there or how long the shelves will be stocked.

A thought-provoking piece which I enjoyed.

I couldn't agree more with Raj's comment Rose. This is outstanding to say the least. Do you think by adding two words I would like to suggest to the ending might help to improve it a little? ....'all pieces of the same diamond...called life.Thank you.Jemima.

Beautiful Rose.

Whilst nature is our teacher we tend to lose the awareness (and connection) that we are all part of this universal life force. Time we learnt to share, preserve and protect the beauty that is our planet.

Hope you well.
