Remember Remember

watched the fireworks
light up the sky
pretty expensive colours
when leaves are free
this time of year

thanks for your comments David, Suki and Ray.

I wasn't aware of the song David but can see the similarity in the first verse. Thanks for the link.

Suki, I have just been reading a conversation between friends on Facebook about how petrified their pets are when the local firework display gets going - I'm sure they would prefer a good run through dry Autumn leaves.

cheers Ray. I should add that I'm not particularly anti-fireworks although there do seem to be more opportunities (excuses?) for setting them off these days. Travelling up through mid France this year I caught a wonderful free display in a small town in celebration of Bastille Day.

Well done Col for this scintillating logic - I love short pithy verses. A kind of ad for fireworks in reverse!

So true Col.

Also, leaves in all their beautiful array of colours, don't scare the heck out of small animals, even when the leaves fall on them.

Really just for the obvious line in the first verse which is simply perfect.
