of a suicide

like the companionship of roses

but dewed with human tears

they gather around the thorniness of the deed,

the sad forced departure

trying so hard to glean something from the loss

able to create even a small and kindly glow

as their minds struggle

to permeate

the unexpected dark event

answers unsettled,forsaking.

This was an ordered death.

Will come

the softening,easing flowers

to slowly grow in the gardens of comfort

among these cold grave stoned days

when peace will enter into this dereliction

bringing its every soothing aspect

to strengthen and enable their sorrows enough

to accept this unwanted gift

that they may be cleansed of pain

allowed to depart the torturous altar

of anguish,misery and regret

it isn't personal jennifer but nevertheless I appreciate your concerns had it been.Your use of the words "incomprehension of those left behind" are so very apt along with Hannahs's "the language of grief and loss" I thank you both.Jemima.

Very moving, the language of grief and loss.
The last verse especially memorable.
A poem to remember.

Very moving and expresses the distress and incomprension of those left behind. As others say, I hope this wasn't someone near to you.

Nicola really appreciated your concern for my well-being and I'm so sorry for the upset caused by your losing someone who for whatever reason felt the need to carry out this terrible kind of act which he saw as an only solution to his problems. It is with gratefulness Cynthia that I can tell you this poem isn't personal.'This was an ordered death' I felt carried the weightiest of determination.Leon Patricia, and Stefan, I repeat my appreciation to the three of you also for your concerns and Justine for liking.Thank you all.Jemima.

It's impossible to know whether this is a personal experience. Regardless, you have captured well the emotional struggle of the persons surrounding such an event as suicide, and the need for release from sorrow.

'This was an ordered death' is hugely enigmatic. It could mean almost any one of three or four possibilities, probably 'intent' but also including 'destiny' etc.
