A different point of view / the nowhere poems

It's three

in the morning

and I have

a Jack Daniel's
jitter bug
point of
view.

stumbling
a little
left and
then a little
right.

autumn rain
running
off  my

crimson

jacket's
silhouette.

caught
somewhere
between
love
and fleeing
to refuge
from  this
train wreck
Of loving you.

candy wrapper
love affair
now melted
all over
me. left
tasteless
and wanting
in the still
fall air.

throw me
a life jacket.

hail me a cab.

let this poor
loser fold his
hand.

and turn
in his chips.

for tonight

I will not
wager on
love
anymore.

tonight

I cannot
win.
