I tend to soak up life
When nothing is going right
Like the rise of the sun
To the dark abyss of night

There’s a grisly storm coming this way
Leaving a carnage of wrecked hearts
I wasn’t prepared for the bad weather
No shelter can protect me from this

Clouds cracking with electricity
The rain feels like tiny needles against my skin
Safe Harbor is out of sight
There’s no escape from this

The wind has whispered
The rain has declared
The thunder shouts
The light has kissed me

My feelings are failing
My emotions are shaking
Facing the eye of the storm
Or maybe I am just facing myself

And then suddenly
There are no more clouds
No more raindrops
The sky is clear again

The storm is over now
Maybe I can get a decent night of sleep
But I’ll always wake up every morning
And play this song on the rooftops
