A Lifetime In A Fortnight

From the sparkling stars
lightening the way on
dirt covered paths.
To the bristling fields on
the mountains backs.
A few brief breaths in
warmth’s embrace.
Gentle eyes carved in
masculine grace.
We lived a lifetime,
in a fortnight.

Memories shall warm the
coldest heart.
Even when fates time
creates a lasting part.
When lonely wolves howl,
the scent of what was,
shall spring forth life,
to a deadened soul.
To live again, a lifetime,
in a fortnight.

A lifetime of love.
Of safety and smiles.
Warm passion to leave one
breathless.

A lifetime of words.
Of shared dreams and compassion.
Heated night to melt
the deepest winter.

All together for us to
pull on and recall.
We lived a lifetime,
in a fortnight.

Thank you very much. I was always taught to 'show, don't tell.' So I try each time to honor that.

Very true reflection of how happiness and love can give u a lifetime of joy.... From just a few treasured moments.... Again repetition of lifetime...... Fortnight... Time works well and the rhyme is effective not forced and flows fluently adding rhythm.... But I really like some of the descriptive imagery used
. When lonely wolves howl,
the scent of what was,
shall spring forth life,
to a deadened soul.
Love this imagery...... Like there a hunger a passion a feverent hunt for companionship
