disbelief

newborn,with our newborn companion,joy!

we thought a boy,who would never age

how he filled each days page for the soul, how he led the dance!

enhanced the early stage, with light and love

while above, dreams flew, waiting to be caught

no thought of reality had we,carrying on the naive act

blind to the fact, that the spectre of time, remained unimpressed

never did we guess of the twist,he would bring about

to flout youthful assumptions of a non-existent end

no friend was he,for you or me,being unaware of the descending curtain

so certain of  an endless sun in which,we could immortally run,

assuming our right to dumb, and deny times cause, its closing door

alas! no more, the truth is killing our thoughts of forever

never, one day, shall another word pass to each, our reach will never return from behind the veil

so must end our tale,of lifes story, lost, will be the undying glory,we did foolishly seek.

we still have that disbelief in growing old Jemima (don't laugh!) Nothing truer said, than the saying-you are as old as you feel.Appreciate your comments.

It is odd Patricia and Stefan, but true, how much we tend to overlook the presence of death. Its the same thing with youth. There is that 'disbelief' in growing old.Thank you.Jemima.
