Midnight Lullaby

do you see in the windows, where moonlight shines

wee hands and faces against the glass?

the midnight orphans, dusty gust

carries their whispers and lullabies

of times when a stranger’s hand

pushed them inside and turned the key

and it was dark and cold

inside stray children left their dreams

in stern rooms

where now daylight invites you to play

stroke that sculpture, pull down the picture

full moon

the wind sweeps old songs of despair

there will be no miracles here

today

This is a gripping concept, and developed very strongly. It is crafted with internal music, securely structured, 'sound' which subtly complements the idea of 'lullaby'. I can't explain why you have not received many fine comments. I think it is really talented.
