Golden Dream

I open my eyes

Life is strange, full of fear

I have lived many a year

Never looking at the bricks

Just staring at walls

Travelling on a narrow and winding road

A fork triplicating my soul

Religion provides a gleaming light

A golden dome forever bright

Questioning the Creator's proven might

Engrossed by tempting Masonic majesty

Praying to a picture framed in travesty

Gilded and shrouded in illusion

A cause for back scratching and charity

A never ending imminent tragedy

I walked through a panelled oak door

Intoxicated by the fumes of cheer I saw

Relaxing and begging for more

A drug induced fuzzy dream

Chilled to a frigid mental core

I have opened my eyes

Life has changed, now I hold it dear

Enlightenment, faith and sobriety bring cheer

Looking at the bigger picture

Believing in myself and my own scripture

Peace comes to those who care

Peace comes to those who dare

Love passed down by the Creator

Provides sustenance now, then and later

Support and empathy makes life greater

I stare at the rising wall

I quickly decide to let it fall

I rebuild it with my desire

And establish my dreams with fire

I open my heart, I open my soul

To a golden dream

I open my eyes

Life is strange, full of fear

I have lived many a year

Never looking at the bricks

Just staring at walls

Travelling on a narrow and winding road

A fork triplicating my soul

Religion provides a gleaming light

A golden dome forever bright

Questioning the Creator's proven might

Engrossed by tempting Masonic majesty

Praying to a picture framed in travesty

Gilded and shrouded in illusion

A cause for back scratching and charity

A never ending imminent tragedy

I walked through a panelled oak door

Intoxicated by the fumes of cheer I saw

Relaxing and begging for more

A drug induced fuzzy dream

Chilled to a frigid mental core

I like the lines about "Never looking at the
bricks...Just staring at the walls".
It's always good not to miss the detail when
faced with the bigger picture while navigating our respective ways through this life.
Indeed - some good lines.
