The hand reached into the pocket and pulled out lint. Expecting the worst, the lint was a better gift than anticipated. A cop asked me if there are any sharp objects she should know about, I say, "no", knowing that I have dirty tricks up my sleeve. I am arrested. It could always have been worse. So could I. But here I am. Jail Cell. Alone. No friends close. No bail. Alone. Surrounded by humans who have held hope in their hands and heard it flutter away. Hindered by their choices. Bogged down by society's manipulative push. Weight. We all get turned inside out. That must be what life is for. For life to tear me up. From my organs to my flesh, there is no way I will let myself be anything but invincible. I know that I will get out of jail free, if I just stay positive.
