Everybody's Talking

Three months of the year,

a personal lack of cheer.

I close my mouth,

my mood goes South.

I arise from the ashes taking

traumatic mental bashes.

I smile again.

I forget the pain.

I talk to everyone that I meet

when I am standing on my feet.

I have a message to communicate.

Life’s dreams to enjoy and negate.

Good morning, how are you?

Are you feeling brand new?

There is no need for you to whinge.

Life’s door is on a secure hinge.

I write my feelings down.

I like their cathartic sound.

Don’t give up on yourself

or your physical and mental health.

If you have a problem talk it through.

Emotions can be dealt with on cue.

If you are feeling blue and do not know what to do share your feelings in lieu.

The title of this poem is from a song covered by amongst others by one of my favourite bands, The Beautiful South.
