Autumn

Let us talk about falls.

Neill from the NHS calls.

My hips, my balls.

I give my all.

The pain, the gall

when I trip in the hall.

Bruises from a maul.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul.

I wish I could stand tall

against the wall.

I am getting old.

I crave total recall.

Make my day.

I live to enthral.

I do not want to fall.

I will stand tall.

This poem was written when I attended a coffee morning for Age UK. There was talk given by a Community Nurse on falls. Total recall is taken from the fall with Arnie The Terminator in. There is also a Dirty Harry quote in. Quite appropriate for the elderly I think. I really like this poem.
