Escape. Time to Vote
Thank you everyone for your entries in the ESCAPE competition which ran during May. They encompass an extraordinary breadth of experience, from pleasure and beauty to sadness and suffering. To read them has been a privilege, albeit sometimes a painful one. The way we turn life into words never ceases to amaze me.
This is an invitation to vote in the competition. The poems are as listed below, in order of date of posting. Could you please vote before the end of Sunday June 5th by emailing your first and second choice to me at davebradley80@hotmail.co.ukand adding a third vote should you so wish (see final paragraph)
If you want to add any comments I'll try to include those in the blog announcing the winners which should be posted on 6th June. The winner will be able to nominate a charity to receive £10. Second place can nominate one to receive £5.
If there is a tie for either first or second place, then second preferences will be taken into account. If there is still a tie then I'll use a casting vote.

Can I just add that I think it is a shame that Rachel Bond removed her entry. The painful memories reflected in the poem, Rachel, mean your decision to pull it is very understandable. Still - I know I’m not alone in thinking it stood a chance of winning. Hope to see you back on WOL one day.
If anyone remembers Rachel’s entry and would have wanted to vote for it, whether first or second, please add a note to that effect to your votes – a kind of 3rd vote. I’ll feed back on any of them that are included.
