The Arriving

Spring breeze runs fingers, lover soft, though hair;
whispers sweet somethings in ears that thrill
to the chorus of sparrows performing in hedgerows,
magpies raucously calling from roofs.
The sun's warm caress on naked arms welcome
while eyes delight in the painted sky;
a gentle watercolour of brush teased clouds
and the delicious sight of green points pushing
through moist earth - daffodils budding,
crocuses blooming and snowdrops nodding
their pretty white heads to some other tune,
too sweet for my hearing - a glorious morning.

Hi Petrova,
So descriptive,it's almost like a painting in itself! Funny how we probably only notice these kinds of things when we take time out,or have a quiet moment! Great stuff! We probably drive or walk past these kind of 'happenings' everyday,and miss them!x

Hi Laura, spring is sexy!

Everything is bursting with colour all to get pollenated, birds are mating etc and we start thinking of diets to shed those winter pounds...

Thanks guys, I've darkened the green in respect of your eyes, not a spring green but still green - hope it's better :)

I like just about anything to with spring as apart from anything else its the end of winter.
All the spring favourites are in there so its got to cheer you up. It reminded me a bit of one one of my poems Magnificent in rebirth which I've now added to my blog. Green is perhaps a little difficult to read but there again very symbolic so I'm not sure that it matters unless you happen to be Mr Magoo

Yep - everyone's at it in spring - my rabbits have certainly warmed up a notch. It's my favourite season - all the promise of summer without the letdown of not having one.

I will third the comments on the colour of text - very hard to read - our eyes have probably all seen better seasons. x

Lovely poem Petrova-much enjoyed it.

Think Steve has a point about the green type although I can see why you have picked it. xxx

It's a lovely take on a very common poetic theme - the warming of the earth and the human spirit as spring comes.

But, Petrova, I think you should render the peom in black text and not have it centred. Lime green is very heard to read, and will give people eye strain just attempting to read it.
