Stairwell Books link up with Dream Catcher magazine
York-based Stairwell Books is to publish Dream Catcher magazine. Dream Catcher, founded in 1996, has had a reputation for the excellence and eclectic nature of its writing. The periodical has had a significant international appeal and recent special editions have focussed on Canadian, and Bosnian and Croatian writing.
Paul Sutherland, the founder of Dream Catcher, said: “This arrangement allows me to concentrate on finding new distinctive writing and art work.” Rose Drew, founder of Stairwell Books, said: “Paul retains control over content, whilst we bring technical proficiency and fresh energy. I have always been delighted by the quality of local Yorkshire writing, but the most recent issue of DC contains some of the best work I’ve read in ages. It will be a joy to promote, and to produce future issues.”
Dream Catcher 24 will be distributed to subscribers during April 2011. Stairwell Books is a York-based small press publishing local poets and writers. Recent titles include The Exhibitionists, The Green Man Awakes, Feria by Nick David, and Along the Iron Veins which celebrates York’s history as a railway town, and includes the work of Write Out Loud poets Winston Plowes and John Coopey.
