Inspired by William Blake

entry picture

Without contraries is no progression. Attraction and repulsion, reason and energy, love and hate, are necessary to human existence.”
―William Blake, The Marriage of Heaven and Hell

Fluid and soft or solid and substantial

I feel them both today

The middle way is not a mixture of opposites. It is a meeting of opposites.

Hard meets soft and something always happens

Joy meets grief and a new birth is forced

Fear meets hope and change commences.

The middle way is neither one nor the other - it is still, it is eternal

It is the empty stage on which all our sparks can fly.

I love the last line, Hazel. It seems to ignite the poem.
