Who You Gonna Kill?

A cruel punishment it is

Depending on the oppressor

Feeding the monster

I’d most like to kill

Apparently all for happiness

While my actions create misery

Longing for peace

While complicit in the conflicts

Glib, flippant, complacent

Where I’d rather be

Genuine, involved and empathetic

Where does the fault lie?

As the sense of decency and fairness

Withers and dies

Who has played their part

Simply through weakness?

Understanding and contributing

has never been hard

My shame is my hoard of junk

Bigger than my house.
